Superintendent's Message

From the Superintendent’s Desk  - August, 2019

As we enter into a new school year, I am excited about the many opportunities that lie ahead. We continue to build a strong foundation based on great teachers and staff, a supportive Board and District staff, and an engaged community. With the strong foundation that we have built, we continue to shape our District to exemplify excellence in all we do, every day. Our overarching theme, future focused and tradition rich, is exhibited daily in the endeavors of our teachers, staff, administration, and students.

As we enter the 2019-2020 school year, we will stay committed to preparing our students for the potential challenges they may face in their academic journey. To assist them in meeting these challenges, we depend on our excellent teaching staff to continue to raise the bar in their classrooms and build on our school system’s strong foundation. I am proud of our many accomplishments, in our schools and across our District, and I look forward to working with our school teams to create more opportunities for our students to be successful.

We should all be proud of the many accomplishments the Jasper City School System has achieved. The graduation class of 2018 had a 92.47% graduation percentage.  The class of 2019 had a graduation percentage of 93.40%.  The Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama reported that the Jasper City School System was one of the top five systems in the state who showed the greatest improvement on the ACT average composite score when comparing the 2015 and 2018 scores. With our outstanding staff, each bringing their attitude of excellence every day, we can continue to provide an education that is second to none.  We depend on all stakeholders; community members, families, faculty members and students, to work together to help every student succeed.

We are

Future Focused and Tradition Rich!
